Stirring Up Something Better

Peggy Bakes happened when I finally went for it — after years spent building brands for other companies, I decided it was time to build my own. It started at my kitchen counter, over one simple frustration: granola was always too sweet, and never had enough of the good stuff — real nuts, seeds, and fruit. So I made the kind I actually wanted to eat — sweetened with pure honey, pure maple syrup, and date syrup, pulled together with a little extra virgin olive oil, and built on ingredients I have in my pantry. What started as a mission to create a better-for-you granola became something more honest: granola that just tastes better. Baked with hands on every batch, and proudly a Wisconsin original. Flavorful. Unexpected. Worth every bite.

I started with a mixing bowl and a mission – but I didn’t build this business alone. Wisconsin has shown up for me. The SBDC, Progress Lakeshore, and the UW Office of Business & Entrepreneurship have offered real guidance, real tools, and real encouragement at the moments I needed them most.
